Old Town South. The “Grevy-Satellite” gallery, Löwengasse 1, invites you on an experimental journey of flavours with the current exhibition “More than Eating – Art and Kitchen” in its premises on Severinstraße.
15 artists serve the guests with 72 unexpected sensualities. As part of the last on-site exhibition, gallery owners Renate Geiter and Arnd Schäfer leave it to their team from the fields of painting, objects and mixed media to fill the visual and haptic menu.
Vegetarian ingredients are mainly used. Eggs, various vegetables and fruit stand out as food sources. With her framed creation of dragon fruit and limes in oil, Astrid Probst adds a graceful and prickly variation to the classic still life.
A few glances away, Probst’s acrylic Physa-list tartlet ensures a rise in blood sugar levels, only to be gleefully counteracted by Carla Zockoll’s rustic bratwurst with mustard mountains.
Celebrating the past Bernd
Straub-Molitor’s “Mutterrollen” celebrate the past. The noodle woods carry portraits of girls and women from old family albums on their bodies.
