Cross-disciplinary art and interdisciplinary artist biographies always arouse our curiosity and are therefore an integral part of the #DiscoveryArtFair. A very representative example are the wonderful drawings by artist & archaeologist Anette Grinda (@aus.dem.schrank) in the fair program of the Cologne gallery Grevy – Galerie und Kunst-Community (@grevykunst), which seem to emerge sculpturally from the paper. Anette Grinda initially studied classical archaeology in Heidelberg and Berlin. She has been working as a freelance archaeologist and artist since 2009. In 2016, she also founded the fashion label aus.dem.schrank, „wearable art“ on shirts in organic and fairwear quality. „My drawings are all done with pen and ink. I use a stroke technique in which short and long lines intersect, condense and flow out. I find my inspiration in my work as an archaeologist, among other things, through classical works of antiquity, which have shaped my aesthetic sensibility and understanding of art. Harmonies, light, movement and also tranquillity determine my way of working,“ is how she describes her work. Grevy – Gallery and Art Community has existed for almost 5 years in Cologne’s Südstadt and represents a good 50 artists from Cologne and all over Germany. The aim is to create a forum away from the established art market, where artists and art lovers can come together in a community. The idea is to bring artists and art lovers into direct exchange and to promote artists. Image: Anette Grinda, Torso – Gold and Blue, 2024, ink on paper, 70 x 100 cm
